STPS Exceeds 10,000 calls for service in 2025
Just before 9 a.m. this morning, the St. Thomas Police Service has exceeded 10,000 calls for service this year.
A milestone reached two days earlier than in 2024 and more than two weeks earlier than in 2022.
The St. Thomas Police Service remains committed to the safety and well being of our community as we respond to the increase in calls for service.
Missing Youths – Found Safe
Two St. Thomas youth were safely located after they were reported missing on Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 4:30 p.m. police received a call from a concerned parent after their child failed to return home from school.
It was reported that the child didn’t get off the bus, but had been at their northside elementary school all day. Parents believed them to be with a friend from school and a description of both youth was provided to police.
Just before 5:30 p.m. a coordinated effort by frontline members of the St. Thomas Police Service led to the safe location of the two youth, found nearby in the Dalewood Conservation Area. ST25009955
Failure to Comply
A 47 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with three counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order and three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order after we were called to investigate the report of an unwanted person. Through investigation, officers learned the accused had attended an address they are on conditions to not attend. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25009937
Warrant Arrest
A 41 year old St. Thomas resident wanted for Breach of Probation, has been arrested. Early this morning, officers located the individual known to them have an outstanding probation warrant. The individual was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25009984
