Intimate Partner Violence 

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Assault and Uttering Threats after police were called to a disturbance. On Wednesday July 10th 2024, police responded to a 911 call in regard to an argument that had escalated between two individuals, resulting in a physical altercation. Upon arrival, police located the victim with minor injuries. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24011794

Fraud

A St. Thomas resident is out approximately $2,000 after falling victim to a phone scam. On Wednesday July 10th 2024, the victim contacted police to report the incident. It was learned they had received a text message from a unknown number stating it was their son and to use this new number to contact them due to their phone being dropped in the toilet. Through several text message exchanges, the victim ultimately transferred money to the scammer. This remains under investigation. ST24011796

Warrant Arrest

A 26 year old London resident has been arrested. On Wednesday July 10th 2024, officers attended an address in the city for reports of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located the individual known to them to be on conditions to not attend the address of concern. The 26 year old was transported to police headquarters to be processed and was held for a morning court appearance. ST24011798

Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a theft that occurred from a downtown grocery store. On Wednesday July 10th 2024, officers were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown individual stealing bags of candy and leaving the store. STPS are reviewing video surveillance of the incident to identify the suspect. ST24011790
