Assault Peace Officer
A 30 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged with one count of Assault Peace Officer following an incident on Tuesday afternoon at the Elgin County Courthouse. While escorting the individual who had been remanded into custody following a court appearance, the accused became combative, causing minor injuring to an officer. During a court appearance on Wednesday, the individual was processed on the charge and remanded back into custody. ST26000279
Assault
A 46 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following a disturbance at an address on St. George Street on Wednesday. At 6:30 p.m. we were called to the address to investigate the report of an altercation between two residents. Upon arrival, officers learned a verbal dispute between the two had escalated resulting in the accused physically assaulting the victim. As a result, the 46 year old was charged with one count of Assault and transported to police headquarters. Once processed, he was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26000337
Intimate Partner Violence
A 61 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after police were called to a residence on the northside of the city, early this morning. Just before 4 a.m. officers attended the address following a 911 call reporting an assault had occurred. Through investigation, police learned an verbal argument between spouses had escalated resulting in a physical assault, causing injury to the victim. Charged with one count of Assault and one count of Assault Cause Bodily Harm, the accused was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. Break and Enter
St .Thomas police are currently investigating the report of a residential break and enter. On Wednesday morning, officers were called to an address on Alma Street, after the tenant of an apartment returned home to find their unit had been entered and multiple items were missing. Attempt Break and Enter
Approximately $500 of damage has been caused to an address on the northside of the city. Last night, officers were called to the address by the occupant who wish to report that three individuals had just left the area after attempting to kick open the front door. The door along with an exterior camera were damaged. A description of the individuals and the vehicle they left in was provided to police. This remains under investigation. ST26000345
Warrant Arrests
A 30 year old St. Thomas man, charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order has been arrested. On Wednesday, officers on community patrol located the individual who had been charged following an incident on January 2nd. The accused was transported to police headquarters, processed to attend court and was remanded into custody. ST26000307
A 51 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Wednesday evening while dealing with the individual on an unrelated call for service, officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for Mischief, stemming from an incident in June of 2025. The man was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST26000338
A 35 year old St. Thomas woman charged with numerous offences, has been arrested. On Wednesday evening, while on a unrelated call for service officers located the individual who had been charged with Failure to Comply with Probation, Failure to Comply with Release Order, Theft under $5,000, Impaired Operation and Possession of a Controlled Substance in relation to separate incidents in November. The 35 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26000351
A 32 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. While conducting a traffic stop early this morning, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for two counts of Theft under $5,000 stemming from separate shoplifting incidents in 2025. The 32 year old was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26000358

A 33 year old St. Thomas man has been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order following a call for service, last night. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST26000339
Fail to Stop
Early this morning, officers on community patrol attempted a traffic stop on Talbot Street with a vehicle failing to display a front license plate. Once the lights of the cruiser were activated, signaling the driver to pull over and stop, the car accelerated at a high rate of speed through the city. With a concern for public safety, a pursuit of the vehicle was terminated. CCTV is being reviewed as this remains under investigation. ST26000352
Theft
The batteries of a mobility scooter have been reported stolen. On Wednesday, while the owner of the scooter returned home to pick up additional batteries after the ones in the scooter had died, the scooter was tampered with and had the batteries stolen. This remains under investigation. ST26000343
Fraud
St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of fraud. On Wednesday, a local resident contacted police after noticing suspicious activity in their bank account. It was reported that an unauthorized cheque had been deposited followed by a cash transaction. The financial institution has been notified and the incident remains under investigation. ST26000305
