Intimate Partner Violence 

A 31 year old Norfolk resident has been arrested after police responded to the report of an assault. On Wednesday December 18th 2024, STPS attended an address on the southside of the city to investigate the report of an argument between spouses that had turned physical with the victim sustaining injury.

Through investigation, police have charged a 31 year old Norfolk resident with:

  • Assault
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Mischief
  • Utter Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24022780

RIDE

Of the vehicles stopped and their drivers spoken to during a RIDE program last night, one driver was issued a 3 day license suspension after a roadside screening device registered a warning. A reminder to our community, please don’t drive impaired. The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year on our roads. Warrant Arrests

A 50 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday December 17th 2024, the individual attended the Elgin County Courthouse to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant from a incident in May. The individual was processed and released by the courts. ST24022723

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday December 18th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible for several shoplifting incidents over the last two weeks. The individual was processed and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse where they were released by the courts. ST24022774

Theft

A black and blue ‘Fuji’ bike has been reported stolen from an address on Princess Ave. ST24022702

The contents of an Amazon box have been reported stolen from an address on Pine Street. ST24022714

Approximately $60.00 of groceries have been reported stolen from a grocery store on Talbot Street. ST24022771

All incidents remain under investigation as officers obtain and review available images and CCTV.
