Impaired Operation
A 55 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged with Impaired Operation after we were called to an address on Fifth Avenue at around 1:15 a.m. this morning. At that time, we received a call stating a collision involving an e-bike and a parked car had occurred. Upon arrival we located the parties and vehicles involved in the incident. Through investigation, we learned the operator of the e-bike had collided with a car, causing damage. No injuries were reported. While we were speaking with the operator of the e-bike, it was evident the individual was intoxicated. The 55 year old was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters with breath samples proved the individual to be impaired by alcohol at nearly two and half times the legal limit. As a result, the 55 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired
- Operation while Impaired by Alcohol Plus 80
- Operation while Prohibited
The individual was processed and later released with a future court date. ST25006022
Warrant Arrests
A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Last night, Oxford OPP notified us that they had they individual in their custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, dating back to an incident in 2023. OPP transported the 37 year old St. Thomas police headquarters to be processed. The individual was held for a morning court appearance and released by the courts. ST25006006
A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Last night, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Assault, following an incident the day before. The 40 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25006010
Failure to Comply
A 72 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged with several offences after we were notified that they had attended an address they are on conditions to not attend. We located the individual and took them into custody. They have been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation and three counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order. The 72 year old was processed, held for a court appearance and released by the courts. ST25005986
Theft
We are currently investigating several incidents of theft from a retail store on Talbot Street. Yesterday, we attended the store to speak with management who reported the same individual had attended the store several times between April 2nd and April 8th, stealing a quantity of alcohol each time. We are reviewing video surveillance of the individual as we continue to investigate. ST25005999
Threats
A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Uttering Threats after an incident was reported to the STPS. Yesterday, we were called to investigate the report of an individual threatening a family member. Through investigation, we formed grounds to charge the 29 year old with one count of Uttering Threats. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25006016
Mischief
A 45 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Mischief after causing damage to property. Yesterday, we were called to an address on Talbot Street where the damage was caused and through investigation, arrested the 45 year old. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST258006020
