Shoplift:
On Saturday the 12th of July Police were called to an east end business for a shoplifting incident. Staff reported that a female attended the store and left without paying for items. The store staff recognized the female who was located a short distance away and returned the products. The 45-year-old female was provided a trespassing ticket in lieu of a criminal charge at the request of the store. Incident ST25012192.
Assist London Police:
On Saturday we were contacted by the London Police Service who requested we attend an address in St Thomas to arrest a male party for Fail to Comply with conditions of an undertaking. The 70-year-old male was located and arrested on reasonable grounds for the London Police Service. London Police sent officers to take custody of the male who was transported to their station. Breach of the peace/Assault Police:
On Saturday we received several calls for service regarding a male in the down-town core that was yelling, swearing and disturbing the public peace. Officers attended and located a 34-year-old male that was known to them and was refusing to calm himself and cease yelling/swearing. Officers informed the male that he was being arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace and he began to be assaultive towards the officers. The male was arrested for assault peace officer and transported to the station and was later released on an undertaking with conditions after allowing time to become calm. Incident ST25012224.
Fraud:
On Saturday evening we were contacted by a local resident that advised her bank account had been accessed and a large number of groceries had been ordered through an online grocery delivery service. The items had been allegedly delivered to an address in the GTA. The matter has been forwarded to the criminal investigations unit to continue. Incident ST25012242.
Voyeurism:
On Friday evening we were contacted by a female resident who had two suspicious “run ins” with an unknown male in a local business. The male bumped into her twice and on the second occurrence she observed that he was using his cell phone in an attempt to film up her dress. The male is described as Caucasian, slim to medium build, having a long reddish beard, black framed glasses, and wearing grey shorts, a red and black baseball cap, and a grey t-shirt with an Ironman image on the front. Bicycle Theft:
On Saturday evening we were contacted by a local resident who reported their bicycle stolen earlier in the day from outside of the St Thomas Public Library. The caller reported seeing a male near the bike rack a short time before the theft who is described as being approximately 5 foot five inches tall with a scruffy beard. Taken was a green Raleigh 700C with 19-inch wheels. Shoplift:
On Saturday evening we were called to an east end business for reports of a male shoplifter. We attended and learned from staff that a white male, approximately 5’8 in height had attended and secreted headphones and a beard trimmer in his waist band before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. Video is being provided and the matter is under investigation. Incident ST25012250.
Shoplift:
Saturday evening Police were called to a different east end business for a shoplifting incident. Staff reported that a female attended the store and left without paying for items. Loss prevention had the female in custody on officer’s arrival. The 48-year-old female was arrested for theft under $5000.00 and later released with a future court date. Incident ST25012252.
