Assault

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after we were called to a disturbance on the northside of the city, last night. Officers were called to an address off of Burwell Road to investigate the report on an assault. Through investigation, police learned a verbal argument between individuals at the address had escalated, resulting in one individual being assaulted by the accused. The 39 year old was charged with one count of Assault, transported to police headquarters and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25013185

Bail Violations

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order after we were contacted by their Probation Officer who reported that they failed to attend their court ordered program. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25013120

Warrant Arrest

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday, we were called in regards to an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers located the individual who was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000, stemming from an incident earlier this month. The 35 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25013132

Fraud 

A St. Thomas resident is out $7,500 after falling victim to a computer scam. The victim attended police headquarters to report that through several communications, a fraudster gained access to their computer and ultimately their financial information, resulting in a loss of $7,500. This remains under investigation. ST25013130

A St. Thomas resident is out $20,000 after falling victim to a bank scam. On Friday, the victim contacted police to report that several transfers and transactions had been made to a person who they believed was a representative from their bank. Additionally, the fraudsters obtained the victims bank cards. The bank’s fraud department has been notified and the STPS Criminal Investigation Branch continues to investigate. ST25013135

Residential Fire 

St. Thomas police attended an address on Malakoff Street to assist the St. Thomas Fire Department with an active structure fire. STFD reports all occupants of the home were able to get to safety and the fire has been deemed non-suspicious. STPS remained in the area through the evening to assist with road closures until STFD were clear. ST25013175

Mischief

Damage to vehicles at an address off of Elm Street has been reported to police. On Friday night, we were called to the area to investigate the report of two vehicles being keyed. Video surveillance of the area is being reviewed as we continue to investigate. ST25013177
