Intimate Partner Violence

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after we were called to an address on the southside of the city Sunday evening. Police attended the address and learned a verbal and physical altercation between spouses had occurred. Through investigation, officers formed grounds to charge the 31 year old with one count of Assault and one count of Forcible Confinement. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. No injuries were reported. ST25017264

Failure to Comply

A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Just after 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers on community patrol located the individual who was known to them to violating a curfew imposed by the courts. The 43 year old was to be in their residence from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. after being released by the courts last week. Through further investigation, officers learned the individual was bound by several other release conditions including to not possess any weapons and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. A search of the individual during their arrest found them to be in possession of a spring-powered knife. As a result, the 43 year old was charged with:

  • Two counts of  Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • One count of Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
  • Three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order
  • Two counts of Breach of Recognizance

The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25017239

Warrant Arrests 

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday, the London Police Service had the individual in custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant for Assault, stemming from an incident in August. The 39 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date in St. Thomas. ST25017247/14436

A 60 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter at police headquarters, officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for two counts of Mischief, stemming from an incident downtown in August. The 60 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25017272/13734

Fraud

A St. Thomas resident is out approximately $180,000 after falling victim to a crypto-currency scam. On Sunday, the individual attended police headquarters to report that over the last several months, the money had been sent to an individual they believed to be online financial advisor. This remains under investigation. ST25017257

Theft

A green BMX bike with black rims and black handle bars has been reported stolen from an address on Barnes Street. On Sunday, police were called to the address to investigate the report of the bike lock being cut and the bike stolen between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning. ST25017237

A 57 year old St. Thomas resident, identified as the person responsible for shoplifting from a retail store on Wellington Street, has been arrested. On Sunday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on the outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000. The 57 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. Mischief 

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Mischief after being identified as the person responsible for causing damage to a display case at a local grocery on Sunday. A warrant for their arrest has been requested. ST25017277
