Failure to comply
A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Saturday September 9th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate the report of an unwanted party, known to the caller to be on conditions not to attend the address of complaint. Through investigation and review of video surveillance, the 32 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count Failure to Comply. The individual was later located in the downtown core, arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and attended court subsequently released by the courts. ST23016027
Assault
A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday September 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate the report of an assault that had occurred in the north end of the city. Upon arrival and through investigation police learned that the accused had reportedly spat on three children after ongoing issues in the neighbourhood of complaint. As a result of the investigation, the 39 year old was arrested and charged with three counts of Assault. The St. Thomas resident was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23016159
Warrant
A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday September 10th 2023, the 37 year old attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Theft Under $5,000 stemming from a shopping lifting incident in April. The St. Thomas resident was processed and released with a future court date. ST23016162
Fraud
Two St. Thomas residents are now out a combined $250 after a fraudulent text message exchange. The St. Thomas residents attended police headquarters on Sunday September 10th, 2023 to report that they had fallen victim to a scam; a text message sent by who they believed to be a relative asking for help with the purchase of a new phone. The victims wanted to help and sent the money via e-transfer. After speaking with the family member who requested the funds, the victims learned they had been scammed. ST23016167
