Impaired Operation
A 38 year old London man has been arrested after a traffic stop in the city early this morning. Just before 3 a.m. officers on community patrol located a vehicle to the side of the road on Centennial Avenue with its hazard lights flashing. Police approached the vehicle to speak with the driver to offer assistance. While speaking with the driver, officers raised concerns of impairment and believed the man to be intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters where testing concluded the man to be impaired by more than three times the legal limit with readings of 280mg/100ml. The individual was charged with one count of Impaired Operation and one count of Impaired Operation plus 80, processed and released on an appearance notice. A license suspension was issued and the vehicle impounded. ST25021463
Recovered Stolen Vehicle
A 2024 black Chevrolet pickup truck reported stolen from the Elgin Centre parking lot, has been recovered. On Sunday, the owner of the truck called police to report that while at the gym, the truck had been stolen. The keys to the vehicle were believed to be dropped in the parking lot while the owner was entering the gym. The keys were later located via a GPS tile tracker. Through investigation, the truck was located abandoned in the wooded area of Athletic Park. CCTV from the park is being reviewed as this remains under investigation. ST25021429
Break and Enter Investigation
Several storage containers, trailers and RV’s have been reported damaged and entered at a secure property on Edward Street. On Sunday, officers were called to the area after the owner of a trailer being stored at the address, found it damaged and entered. Through investigation police learned access to the property was gained by a hole cut in the fence surrounding the area. This remains under investigation. ST25021422
Theft
A red, Fugi hybrid mountain bike originally valued at $2,500 has been reported stolen from an address in the 400 block of Talbot Street. On Sunday, officers were called to the area after the owner of the bike wished to report that while they were at work, the bike had been stolen. CCTV in the area is available and being reviewed. Several items have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Sunday, police were called to the area to investigate the report of an unknown male, failing to pay for his items. Video of the individual has been provided to police. ST25021457
