Theft

Two St. Thomas residents have been charged following a theft investigation. On Saturday December 14th 2024, officers were called to a retail store on Talbot Street to investigate the report of an unknown individual leaving the area after failing to pay for several items of clothing. Police were provided a description of the vehicle the individual left the area in and a traffic stop was conducted a short distance away. As a result, at 42 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with Theft under $5,000 and released on an appearance notice. The driver of the vehicle, a 50 year old St. Thomas resident was wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation, dating back to 2022. The individual was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24022594

Warrant Arrest 

A 36 year old St. Thomas resident was arrested after police responded to an unwanted person call, Sunday morning. Officer attended the 300 block of Talbot Street and located an individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Mischief. The 36 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST24022616

Break and Enter Investigations 

St. Thomas police are investigating a break and enter incident that occurred in the industrial area of the city. On Sunday December 15th 2024, STPS were contacted by the security company for the business who wished to report that at some point in the overnight hours, access to the building had been gained and a quantity of copper wire had been stolen. This remains under investigation. ST24022634

On Sunday evening, officers on community patrol observed damaged to the entrance of a building under construction in the 600 block of Talbot Street. Through review of the CCTV cameras in the area, police observed two unknown individual leaving the address with several items. This incident remains under investigation. ST24022647

RIDE

St. Thomas police are pleased to share that of the 150 vehicles that were stopped and their drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city on Sunday, no infractions or concerns were reported. STPS wishes to thank the community for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST24022641

Intimate Partner Violence

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged after police were called to a disturbance at an address on the northside of the city, late last night. It was reported that an altercation between spouses had escalated resulting in the damage to the home and the victim being physically assaulted by the accused, who had left the area prior to police arrival. Officer located the individual a short distance away and as a result, the 32 year old has been charged with:

  • One count domestic mischief
  • One count assault
  • One count of theft
  • Two counts fail to comply with probation

The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24022645
