3 Warrant Arrests, Shoplifter Sought.
Officers responding to a report of an assault at a downtown address arrested a 31 year old Thursday morning. The male, of no fixed address, was found to be wanted on the strength of a bench warrant. The male was arrested and held for court, where he was later remanded into custody, held for a future court date. The assault investigation was determined to be unfounded. ST24000822.
A 38 year old St. Thomas man was arrested Thursday afternoon following a short foot chase. The man was wanted on a probation warrant and when he observed the officer he fled on foot. Following an abbreviated foot chase, the man was taken into custody. He was held for court purposes and would later be released by the courts with a future court date. ST24000837.
A 40 year old Port Stanley woman, previously wanted for breaching a condition of her release, turned herself into police late Thursday night. The woman was alleged to have failed to sign in as per her previous release order. She would later be released with a future court date. ST24000838/864.
St. Thomas police are investigating after a local retail store reported the theft of shoes late Thursday. A male, described as in his 20’s with Blonde hair, wearing a blue coat, white hooded sweat shirt and dark pants, was said to have made off with a pair of Nike Air Max shoes valued at $129.99. The identity of the male was not known, and video was not immediately available. Investigation continues. ST24000850.
