Intimate Partner Violence
A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Assault with a Weapon after we were called to a disturbance downtown, Thursday morning. At 9:00 a.m. we were called to a parking lot in the 600 block of Talbot Street to investigate the report of two individuals in an argument that appeared to have to turned physical. Upon arrival, we located an individual who reported their partner had thrown coffee on them when a verbal argument had escalated. The accused had left the area prior to police arrival. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25007171
Warrant Arrest
A 54 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter at the Elgin County Courthouse, officers became aware of an outstanding warrant for Failure to Comply with Release and Breach of Probation. The 54 year old was processed for court and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25007174
Break and Enter
A variety of power tools and hand tools have been reported stolen from a storage facility. On Thursday, we were called to investigate the report of a storage locker being entered and the tools removed. This remains under investigation. ST25007183
Bail Violations
A 52 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after we were called to a grocery store on Talbot Street, Thursday afternoon. A 1:00 p.m. we attended the store to investigate the report of an individual in the store who was known to staff to have been trespassed from the area. Upon arrival, we located the 52 year old who is currently on release conditions to not attend the address after being charged with Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident earlier this week. As a result, the individual was charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released with a future court date. ST25007191
Theft
Approximately $150 of groceries has been reported stolen from a grocery store on Talbot Street. On Thursday, we were called to investigate the report of an unknown individual failing to pay for their items. The individual was last seen leaving the area in a dark grey vehicle. We are reviewing CCTV of the incident as we continue to investigate. ST25007201
We are currently reviewing video surveillance of theft that occurred from an address on Princess Avenue. On April 21st, we were called by an individual who wished to report their belongings had been stolen. CCTV of the incident was provided and is being reviewed. This remains under investigation.
