Media Release – Friday March 3 2023

Possession of Stolen Property 

On Thursday March 2nd 2023 St. Thomas Police located and arrested a 39 year old St. Thomas female through investigation of an incident that was first reported to our service on Wednesday March 1st 2023 (ST23003260) As a result, the female has been charged with 1 count  of Fail to Comply with Release Order, 1 count of Use of Credit Card, 1 count of Possess Stolen Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. A warrant has been issued. ST23003318

Mischief

On Thursday March 2nd 2023 St. Thomas Police attended a business in the north end of the city to investigate damage to a motor vehicle. Upon returning to their vehicle parked in an employee parking lot, the owner found his vehicle to be damaged. St. Thomas Police are continuing their investigation. ST23003320

Theft

On Thursday March 2nd 2023 St. Thomas Police were called to a local retail store to investigate a theft that had occurred. At approximately 12:30 PM. Loss prevention staff report that a white male in his early 60’s wearing blue jeans, a black leather jackets, toque and a black medical mask was seen filling his cart with small appliances, clothes and food. The male then leaves the store with the cart containing approximately $1,700 worth of goods, making no attempt to pay. Police are continuing to investigate and review video surveillance. ST23003336

Assault with a Weapon

On Thursday March 2nd 2023 St. Thomas Police attended a Talbot Street address to investigate a report of an alleged assault. Upon arrival it was learned that a dispute had occurred between two male parties in relation to a bike that one of the males believed to be his. The dispute resulted in one of the males being sprayed with pepper spray. The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. This remains under investigation. ST23003337

Warrant Arrest 

On Thursday March 2nd 2023, a 58 year old St. Thomas man attended Police Headquarters to turn himself in after a warrant for his arrest had been issued for 1 count of Assault with a Weapon. The male was processed without incident and released with a future court date. ST23003342

Break and Enter 

On Friday March 3rd 2023, at approximately 3:00 AM Officers on general patrol located a residence under construction in the south end of the city that appeared to have been entered. The Officer located damage to the drywall at the garage door entrance. STPS are continuing their investigation. ST23003367
