Media Release Friday March 21st 2025

Assault

A 15 year old St. Thomas teen has been arrested. On Thursday March 20th 2025, police were called to a family disturbance at an address on the southside of the city. Upon arrival, officers learned the teen had physically assaulted their parent. As a result, the 15 year old was charged with one count of Assault and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday March 20th 2025, officers on community patrol witnessed an altercation between two individuals. Police observed the accused pour coffee on an individual who had allegedly stolen their property. Through investigation police formed ground to charge the 37 year old with Assault with a Weapon and the 23 year old involved party with Theft under $5,000. Both individuals were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released with future court dates. ST25004575/4578

Mischief 

Damage the to the screen door of a residence on the southside of the city has been reported to police. On Thursday March 20th 2025, police were called in regards to the damage that was caused by an individual known to the tenants after they refused entry to the person. The individual had left the area prior to police arrival. ST25004555

Additional graffiti has been reported at downtown business. The incidents, reported to police earlier this week, remain under investigation. ST25004601

Theft

Approximately $70 of merchandise has been reported stolen from a downtown grocery store. On Thursday March 20th 2025, police were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown person failing to pay for a quantity of household cleaners. Video of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST25004557

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Talbot Street. On Thursday March 20th 2025, police were contacted by the vehicle owner who wished to report the incident that occurred at some point in the overnight hours. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST25004569

A multi-coloured, battery powered hyper bike has been reported stolen. The bike, valued at approximately $500 was stolen from an address on Talbot Street on Thursday March 20th, 2025. ST25004587

Six boxes of trading cards have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Thursday March 20th 2025, police were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown person attending the store and failing to pay for the merchandise. Video of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST25004588
