Warrant Arrest

A 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after being charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order and two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order in relation to an investigation that began earlier this week. Early this morning, we were notified by the Aylmer Police Service that they had the individual in their custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant. Custody was transferred to STPS and the 42 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25010560

Theft

$230 of cosmetics have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Thursday, we were contacted by loss prevention at the store who wished to report an unknown individual attended the store and concealed the merchandise in a reusable shopping bag before leaving the store, failing to pay. This remains under investigation. ST25010464

A 59 year old Toronto resident has been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation and Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible for stealing $550 of baby formula from a retail store on Talbot Street, Wednesday June 18th. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25010467

A  Norco 29″ dark grey bike has been reported stolen from an elementary school. On Thursday, we were contacted to investigate the report of the bike lock being cut and the bike removed from the rack outside of the school. CCTV of the theft is being reviewed. This remains under investigation. ST25010528

Mischief 

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Mischief and three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation after we were called to attend the bus stops at 1063 Talbot Street. On Thursday afternoon, it was reported that an unknown individual had smashed the glass of one of the bus shelters in that area. A description was provided to police and the individual was located a short distance away. The 35 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25010517

Fraud 

A local resident is out $800 after falling victim to a scam. On Thursday, the individual contacted police after learning the phone number they used to contact a utility company to pay a bill, was fraudulent. This remains under investigation. ST25010509
