Impaired Operation

A 26 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after we were called to a collision, last night. Just before 10:15 p.m. we were called by a driver who reported that while travelling through a round about on the southside of city, their vehicle was struck. Upon arrival, officers located both vehicles and their drivers. While speaking with one of the drivers, officers were concerned they were impaired. A roadside screening device was administered resulting in a fail. The 26 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where subsequent breath tests revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 130mg/100ml and 120mg/100ml. The 26 year old was charged with Operation while Impaired Plus 80, their license suspended and their vehicle towed. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. ST25013107

Warrant Arrests

A 27 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter at the Elgin Count Courthouse, officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for Assault and Failure to Comply with Release Order dating back to 2023. The individual was processed, made a court appearance and was remanded into custody. ST25013060

A 62 year old St. Thomas resident charged with Fraud after using a fraudulent bar code while scanning merchandise, has been arrested. On Thursday afternoon, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on on the outstanding warrant. The 62 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25013075/13003

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday afternoon, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Comply with Release Order. The 39 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice to attend court. ST25013087

Theft

An amazon package valued at $35 has been reported stolen from an address on White Street. On Thursday, we were contacted by a homeowner who wished to report their residential ring camera captured an unknown person attend their front porch and steal the package. Video is being provided to police in an effort to identify the person responsible. ST25013065

Break and Enter 

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of a residential break and enter. On Thursday, we were called to an address on Fifth Avenue after the owner of the property reported several items had been taken. Through investigation, officers learned the owner had attended the vacant property to complete some repairs and notice several storage boxes with various items had been stolen.
