Intimate Partner Violence 

A 25 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after we were called to a disturbance at an address on Holland Street, Thursday morning. Just before 9:00 a.m. we were called to the area by a victim who reported being assaulted by their partner after verbal argument had escalated. As a result, their 25 year old partner was charged with Assault and Assault with a Weapon. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. No injuries were sustained by the victim. ST25012041

Warrant Arrests

A 53 year old London resident has been arrested. On Thursday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Impaired Operation after being charged in May, following a collision. The 53 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25012044/ST25008215

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident in May. The 38 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST25012067

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday, the individual, wanted by our service for Failure to Comply with Release Order was located by police. The 32 year old had been charged by way of warrant after removing their GPS monitoring device and not abiding by their release conditions. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed for a court appearance and was remanded into custody. ST25011964

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday evening, the individual attended police headquarters in relation to unrelated matter when officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for Mischief, stemming from an incident on July 2nd. The 34 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25012102

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Early Friday morning, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted an an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation after being identified as the person responsible for the theft of an e-bike in April. The 40 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25012112

Fraud

A St. Thomas resident is out $7,400 after falling victim to a bitcoin scam. On Thursday, the victim contacted police to report that after following a link that was advertising investment opportunities, a series of transactions were then completed before they were alerted to it being fraudulent advertisement and fake company. This remains under investigation. ST25012095

A local business is out more than $26,000 after falling victim to an insurance scam. On Thursday, the business contacted police to report that that the company they use to process health benefits had been compromised and all transactions had been re-routed to the fraudulent company. This remains under investigation. ST25012061

Disqualified Driver

A 28 year old Southwold resident has been charged with several driving offences after police were called in regards to an erratic driver. entering the city. Officers located the vehicle and its driver on Talbot Street. While speaking with the individual, officers learned they were unlicensed. The 28 year old was issued a two summons under the Provincial Offences Act, charged with Operation while Prohibited under the Highway Traffic Act and issued an appearance notice to attend court at a later date. Attempted Vehicle Theft 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of two unknown individual attempting to steal a vehicle while it was parked outside of a retail store on Elm Street. Last night, we were contacted by a resident who wish to report that while they were inside of the store, two individuals were seen trying to entering their vehicle through one of the windows. Police are reviewing available video surveillance as we continue to investigate. ST25012096
