Suspended Driver
A 56 year old St. Thomas resident who had been issued a driving suspension on December 31st 2023, has been charged. At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Thursday January 4th 2024, as the result of a traffic stop the 56 year old was charged with Driving While Under Suspension and Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance. Warrant Arrests
A 51 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday January 4th 2024, officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an related matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service stemming from several incidents and charges in December of 2023. The individual was arrested and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse to appear in court. ST24000158
A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday January 4th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Release Order. The 40 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24000165
A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday January 4th 2024, officers were called to a local grocery store to investigate the report of an unknown individual shoplifting. The individual had left the store prior to police arrival but was located a short distance away. Officers became aware of an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation and the 37 year old was arrested, processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24000167
Stolen Vehicle, Recovered.
A motorcycle reported stolen in May of 2023 has been recovered. On Thursday January 4th 2024, officers were called to a convenience store in the north end of the city to investigate the report of a motorcycle being left behind the building. Upon arrival, police were able to confirm the vehicle had been reported stolen and positively matched the description originally provided by the owner. Police are reviewing video surveillance in the area to identify the parties involved. ST24000168
