Public Intoxication Leads to Drug Charges
A 17 year old St. Thomas teen has been arrested following an incident on Wednesday evening. While on community patrol, officers observed the accused arguing with other teens in the downtown core. The group was stopped by police and while speaking with them it became clear the 17 year old was intoxicated. The accused continue to argue with officers and was subsequently charged with Public Intoxication under the Liquor Licence and Control Act. The teen was transported to police headquarters. A search incident to arrest found the accused to be in possession of a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine and Fentanyl. The 17 year old was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Break and Enter
Police are investigating a break and enter that occurred at a commercial building under renovation on Talbot Street.
Sometime between 4:00 p.m. on February 25th and 6:30 a.m. on February 26th, unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a secured entrance.
Workers arriving on site shortly after 6:30 a.m. discovered damage and found the premises had been entered. Two black tool boxes containing approximately $20,000 worth of tools were reported stolen. The boxes had been secured with chains, which were found to be broken.
Officers attended and cleared the building with the assistance of K9. The building was processed and items believed to have been left behind by the suspect(s) have been seized. CCTV footage is available and being provided to police. This remains under investigation. ST26003335
Intimate Partner Violence Investigation
STPS are investigating the report of intimate partner violence. On Thursday, the victim attended police headquarters to report ongoing concerns involving their relationship. Historical incidents involving verbal abuse, intimidation, and threats were reported. Based on the information provided to police, a warrant for the arrest of the 52 year old accused has been requested. ST26003364

A bottle of liquor has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday afternoon, officers were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown individual failing to pay for the item. This remains under investigation. ST26003299
Several cosmetics have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday, police were contacted in regards to the incident that occurred on February 23rd. Video of the incident and the individuals involved have been provided to police. ST26003305
St. Thomas police are investigating the report of two individuals consuming alcohol they failed to pay for. Thursday night, officers were called to a retail store on Talbot Street after staff found the pair in the washroom with the items. Video of the individuals, who had left the area prior to police arrival is available and being provided to police. ST26003382
