Break and enter

Approximately $10,000 in jewelry, electronics and personal identification have been reported stolen. On Thursday February 22nd 2024, St. Thomas police were called by a homeowner on the southside of the city who wished to report that their home had been entered and their property and belongings were gone. Through investigation, police learned an unknown person had entered the home sometime after 4:45 p.m. and had rummaged through several rooms and had stolen a quantity of jewelry, two laptops and several pieces of personal identification. This remains under investigation. Police are asking for anyone with information in regards to this incident to please call 519-631-1224 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. ST24002843

Vehicle entry

A wallet containing personal identification and bank cards has been reported stolen. On Thursday February 22nd 2024, STPS were notified of a vehicle entry that occurred on the 21st of February while the owner was attending an appointment at an address on Centre Street. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST24002817

Failure to comply

A 27 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday February 23rd 2024, officers were called to west end address in regards to an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located an individual known to them to be on conditions to not attend that address. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters. While being processed, officers located items the individual is prohibited from having. As a result, the 27 year old has been charged with 5 counts Failure to Comply with Probation Order and 5 counts Possession of Firearm or Ammunition. The individual has been held for a morning court appearance. ST24002848

Theft

A TV and several pieces of bedding valued at $755 has been reported stolen. St. Thomas police are currently investigation a theft that occurred from retail store on Talbot Street on February 21st, 2024. Through investigation, police learned that two unknown individuals entered the store selected the bedding and left the store without paying. The pair then re-entered the store, selected a TV and left without paying. Police have reviewed available video of the incident are seeking assistance in identifying the individuals in the photos below. Theft

$800 in baby formula has been reported stolen. On Thursday February 22nd 2024, officers were called by loss prevention employees of a retail store on Talbot Street who wished to report that at approximately 9:30 p.m. two unknown individuals had left the store with multiple containers of formula. Police are currently reviewing video surveillance in an attempt to identify the suspects. ST24002800

$320 of liquor has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Thursday February 22nd 2024, officers were called by an employee of the store who reported that at approximately 10:30 a.m. an unknown individual entered the store, selected 4 bottles of liquor and left without paying. This remains under investigation. ST24002801

Theft and warrant arrest

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday February 22nd 2024, St. Thomas police were called to a grocery for the report of an individual who had left the store with grocery items they failed to pay for. Upon arrival, police located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Probation Order. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were charged with Theft under $5,000 and 2 counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order and released on an undertaking with a future court date.
