Stolen Vehicle
St. Thomas police are investigating the report of a stolen vehicle. On Tuesday February 18th 2025, STPS were called to an address on the west side of the city to investigate the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers learned that at approximately 5:30 a.m. the owner of the vehicle attempted to activate the remote start from inside their residence prior to leaving for work, when they became aware of the vehicle being gone. The vehicle had approximately $5,000 of property inside including children’s seats, winter boots and clothing, a wallet with ID and bank cards as well as electronics and additional personal belongings.
Through investigation, officers learned the victim’s bank card had been used at a variety store on the south end of the city a short time after the vehicle was stolen. Police attended the store and obtained video footage of the individual using the stolen card. As a result, a 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Theft under $5,000, two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation and Failure to Comply with Undertaking. A warrant for arrest has been requested.

High School Assault
A St. Thomas teen has been charged after police were called to a local high school on Thursday. Just after 12:30 p.m. police were called to the school in regards to a physical altercation between two students, resulting in minor injuries. Video of the incident was reviewed by police and through investigation, a 14 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with one count of a Assault. A warrant for arrest has been requested. Assault with a Weapon
A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police responded to a family dispute, Thursday afternoon. At approximately 3:00 p.m. police attended an address on the north side of the city after receiving a 911 call from the victim, who wished to a report a verbal altercation between them and a family member had escalated resulting in a physical assault. It was reported that the accused had a knife and had caused damage to a vehicle as they were leaving the area.
Officers were provided a description of the individual who was quickly located a short distance away. The 43 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be processed on the following charges:
- Assault with a weapon
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition/Weapon
The individual was held for a morning court appearance. ST25002826
Theft
A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged after being identified as the person responsible for shoplifting from a retail store on Talbot Street, on Thursday. Police attended the store and reviewed video of the incident, identifying the individual. The 38 year old is known to police to be on conditions to not attend the address of the call. They have been charged with Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25002804

On Thursday, police were called in regards to an unwanted person at a gas station on Talbot Street. Officers learned the individual had failed to pay for their items before leaving the store, prior to police arrival. Harassment
A 48 year old Strathroy resident charged with Criminal Harassment, has been arrested. On Thursday February 20th 2025, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in after a warrant had been issued for their arrest, following an investigation into unwanted communication. The 48 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25002811
Warrant Arrest
A 29 year old St. Thomas resident charged with Breach of Probation has been arrested. On Thursday February 20th 2025, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted on the outstanding warrant. The 29 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25002822
