Impaired Operation
A 24 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following at traffic stop early this morning. Shortly before 1 a.m. officers on community patrol observed a vehicle proceed through a red light, making a left hand turn before the light had turned green. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was spoken to. While speaking with the driver, officers were concerned he was impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered, resulting in a fail. The individual was transported to police headquarters where breath samples provided readings of 153mg/100ml and 138mg/100ml. The 24 year old was charged with Operation while Impaired – Alcohol, Operation while Impaired Plus 80 and Red Light – Proceed before Green under the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was towed and the driver was issued a 90 day licence suspension. He was released from custody on an appearance notice with future court date. ST26002952
14 Day Suspension
A 31 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following a traffic stop Thursday night after officers observed a vehicle travelling with only one headlight illuminated. The drivers identification was confirmed at which time officers determined he was operating a motor vehicle while under suspension. The driver was unable to provide a vehicle permit or proof of insurance.
While speaking with accused, officers were concerned he had consumed alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters where breath samples registered within the provincial “warn” range.
The 31 year old was released on summons and charged with Driving While Under Suspension, Driving Without Proper Headlights, Failing to Surrender a Vehicle Permit, Failing to have an Insurance Card, and Novice Driver — Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero. His driver’s licence was suspended for 14 days. ST26002942
Warrant Arrests Leads to Additional Charges
A 30 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Thursday while attending an unwanted person call for service, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding DNA warrant. The accused was taken into custody. During the call for service, an incident involving the accused was disclosed to officers. Through investigation, officers learned of an altercation between the accused and the victim that had occurred earlier this week. As a result, the 30 year old St. Thomas man was charged with three counts of Uttering Threats, two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Forcible Confinement and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST26002910/2913
Warrant Arrest
A 50 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Thursday officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to wanted for two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation stemming from charges laid in October of 2025. The accused was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and later released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST26002903
Fraud
A local company is out more than half a million dollars after learning a company they had been doing business with over the course of several months was fraudulent. On Thursday, staff of the company contacted police after learning a logistics company they had been doing business with was determined to not be an actual business resulting in the loss of over 500,000. Stolen Vehicles
A black 2017 Nissan Murano Platinum has been reported stolen from an address on William Street. On Thursday the owner of the vehicle contacted police to report the incident that occurred at some time after 10 p.m. on Wednesday night. The keys to vehicle are accounted for and no signs of damage were found at the address. A stock photo of the stolen vehicle can be seen below. This remains under investigation. ST26002896

A blue 2020 Nissan Kicks has been reported stolen. On Thursday the owner of the vehicle contacted police to report that it was originally loaned to an acquittance who has refused to return it and can no longer be reached. Theft
Staff from a retail store on Talbot Street called police on Thursday evening to report a theft had occurred. It was reported that an unknown man attended the store and failed to pay for a bottle of liquor. Video is being provided to police. ST26002924
