Impaired Driver Arrested
Officers conducted a traffic stop last evening on a driver they suspected to be impaired. The 43yr old driver was exhibiting signs that he may be under the influence of drugs, and as such was requested to participate in a Standard Field Sobriety Test. The male performed poorly and was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance. A further test conducted at the station by a Drug Recognition Expert confirmed the officers suspicion and the 43yr old St. Thomas resident was subsequently charged. His driver’s license was suspended immediately for a period of 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. The man was released from custody with a future court date. ST25023199
