Break & Enter
Police received a report of a break and enter in the courthouse area where a garage was entered overnight. Approximately $15,000 worth of property was stolen, including two black Demon e‑bikes and several teal Makita power tools. Vehicle Entries
Two thefts from unlocked vehicles were reported in the southeast end of the city. In one case, a passport was stolen at 12:58 a.m. on July 24. During video canvassing, a nearby resident also reported loose change stolen from their unlocked vehicle overnight. No damage was reported to either vehicle. Video has been obtained and will be reviewed in an effort to identify the suspect. Incident # ST26014156
Fraud Incidents
A resident contacted police after being notified by Quebec Provincial Police that a stolen Corvette registered in her name had been recovered. Investigation revealed the resident’s identity had been stolen and used to fraudulently purchase the vehicle. Incident # ST26014118
A resident reported that an unknown person opened a credit card in his name and accumulated approximately $500 in charges. He advised he was previously notified of a privacy breach involving a rewards account and suspects this may be related. Incident # ST26014131
A resident reported falling victim to a cryptocurrency scam. On July 23, she observed a fraudulent charge of $494 linked to cryptocurrency and the Kraken app. The victim’s bank has been notified and has frozen all of their accounts. Incident # ST26014155
Sexual Assault
A female reported being sexually assaulted by a male at her apartment on Tuesday. She advised she met the male online and had met with him twice. On the second meeting, she reports she was sexually assaulted. The Criminal Investigations Branch is continuing the investigation. Incident # ST26014124
Warrant Arrests
A bench warrant for Theft Under was executed on a 42‑year‑old male at the courthouse. The male was released with a future court date. Incident # ST26014137
Police located a 34‑year‑old male on Wellington Street and learned he was wanted on a London Police Service bench warrant. He was arrested; however, while in custody he exhibited signs of medical distress. EMS attended, and the male was released unconditionally and transported to the hospital. Incident # ST26014154
Shoplifting
Staff at a Talbot Street business reported that at approximately 3:45 p.m., a male and female stole a duffle bag containing approximately $658 worth of beef jerky. Video has been obtained and will be reviewed. The matter remains under investigation. Incident # ST26014142
Intimate Partner Violence
Police responded to a heated domestic dispute near the downtown core. After speaking with both parties, officers formed reasonable grounds to arrest a 36‑year‑old male for one count of assault. Minor injuries were observed on the victim. The male was arrested and later released on an Undertaking. Incident # ST26014160
Disturbance
Police responded to a disturbance at a local bar involving five people. Staff reported an argument between the male and a female that escalated after she and four others were removed from the premises. A 23‑year‑old male had minor marks on his lip and eyebrow. All witnesses had been drinking, and officers could not determine whether an assault occurred. No CCTV was available. The matter remains under investigation. Incident # ST26014162
