False Alarm of Fire

On the morning of Thursday December 14th, a resident of a Talbot St apartment building damaged the building’s surveillance cameras and pulled the fire alarm. The fire department attended and confirmed there was no fire. The resident was previously charged with Mischief in relation to the same building and was found to be breaching a condition of his release. As a result of this incident, the 51 year old was charged with Mischief Under $5000 x 2, False Alarm of Fire, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. The accused was arrested and later remanded into custody by the courts. ST23021964

Attempt Break and Enter

Sometime overnight on December 11th, an unknown person attempted to pry open a door to a Talbot St restaurant. Entry was not gained however; the door was damaged. Investigation is ongoing. Shoplift

On Thursday afternoon police were called to a business in the 1000 block of Talbot St for reports of a shoplifter. Several Loss Prevention Officers had a male party in custody. Police identified the male as 32 year Juan Currie. Currie was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000 and later released with a future court date. ST23021976

Warrant Arrests

On Thursday afternoon a 27 year old male known to police was arrested on the strength of three separate first instance warrants. The male is charged with Theft Under $5000 x 5 and Fail to Comply with Probation x 3. The male was processed and later released with a future court date. ST23021979

Late on Thursday night while responding to an unrelated call for service, police spoke with a 40 year old female from London. A query of the female revealed she was currently wanted by the STPS on a bench warrant for failing to attend court to answer to charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation. The female was taken into custody without incident and later released with a future court date. ST23021998.

Weapons

During the early evening on Thursday December 14th, a family dispute occurred on Talbot St in the downtown core. The dispute became heated and one of the involved parties drew a knife and threatened to kill his family member and their partner. During the altercation, the accused swung the knife in the direction of one of the victims and scratched the door of their vehicle. Police located the accused several hours later and he was arrested without incident. As a result of this investigation a 34 year old male is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats to Cause Death x 2, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Mischief Under $5000, and Fail to Comply with Probation x 2. The male was transported to police headquarters where he was held for court. ST23021993.
