Warrant Arrests 

A 43 year old St. Thomas resident currently in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre has been charged. As the result of a fraud investigation, the 43 year old has been charged with Fraud under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Officers attended EMDC to execute the warrant, where the individual remains in custody. ST23021897

A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday December 13th 2023, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service after being identified as the person responsible for a shoplifting incident in October. The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23021925

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday December 13th 2023, officers at the Elgin County Court House were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Release Order. The St. Thomas resident was processed and released with a future court date. ST23021927

Break and Enter

St. Thomas Police are currently investigating a break and enter that occurred at an address on Queen Street. On Wednesday December 13th 2023, officer were called by a tenant of an apartment building who wished to report their apartment had been entered and a quantity of cash and a cell phone has been stolen. Police are reviewing available video surveillance and continue to investigate. ST23021926

Theft

A 27 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged. On Wednesday December 13th 2023, officers were called to a Talbot Street convenience store to investigate the report of a theft that had occurred. Upon arrival, police learned an individual had attended the store, selected various merchandise before leaving the store without paying. Officers reviewed video surveillance and identified the 27 year old St. Thomas resident as the person responsible for the theft. As a result, the individual has been charged with Theft under $5,000 and three counts of Failure to comply with Probation Order. A warrant has been requested. ST23021941

RIDE

Approximately 50 drivers were spoken to during a RIDE check on Wednesday December 13th, 2023. STPS is happy to share no infractions were found. ST23021949
