Warrant Arrests:

On Saturday morning members of the Elgin County OPP brought a prisoner to the St Thomas Police Service for weekend video court. It was discovered the 49 year old male from London had a warrant held by St Thomas PS. The male was arrested on the outstanding warrant and later released by the courts with conditions and a future court date related to all incidents. Incident ST24001631.

On Saturday morning an officer on general patrol recognized a male party that was currently wanted on a warrant for outstanding charges. The 21 year old St Thomas resident was arrested on the strength of the warrant. Search incident to arrest Police located a spring loaded knife in his possession. The male was further charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and fail to comply with a condition of his probation. The male was later released with a future court date. Vehicle Entry:

On Saturday a resident in the North West end of the City reported a vehicle entry overnight. An unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway had been entered and a pair of headphones had been stolen. Shoplifting:

On Saturday Police were called to an east end business for the report of a male who had the store without paying for merchandise. On review of surveillance video the male suspect was identified by officers who were familiar with him from previous incidents. A 31 year old St Thomas resident is currently charged with theft under $5000.00 and a warrant is being sought for his arrest. Incident ST23001651.

Break and Enter:

In the early morning hours on Sunday the 4th of February an alert passerby contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report a possible break and enter to a downtown business – as the glass to the front door had been shattered. Police attended and cleared the business ensuring it was safe to allow the owner on site. A review of video with the owner showed a male enter and exit the business several times taking property and merchandise with him. Through investigation the male was identified and the majority of the stolen goods were returned to the owner. A 23 year old St Thomas resident was arrested and charged with Break and Enter to commit theft. The male was held for weekend video court and was later released by the courts with conditions and a future court date.
