Sex Assault:

On Friday the 29th of March 2024 members of the Criminal Investigations Branch concluded an investigation into an alleged sexual assault. A 46 year old male was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault on an adult female known to him. The male was later released on a undertaking with conditions. Incident ST24004904.

Attempt theft of motor vehicle (x2):

On Friday afternoon a resident in the south west end of the city reported that her vehicle had been entered and the steering column was damaged. Police attended and discovered that unknown suspect(s) had attempted to steal the vehicle overnight, damaging the steering column in the process. The matter is under investigation. In the early morning hours on Saturday the 30th of March a concerned citizen in the court house area noted a vehicle parked halfway into the roadway from a parking spot and called in the traffic hazard. Police attended and found damage to the steering column of the vehicle and it appeared to be another unsuccessful attempted theft. The registered owner of the vehicle was located and notified of the incident. The matter is under investigation. Warrant Arrest:

On Friday afternoon an officer on general patrol observed a male known to him to be wanted on a warrant held by the London Police Service. The 44 year old St Thomas resident was arrested on the strength of the warrant and was later turned over to the London Police Service. Incident ST24004926.

On Friday afternoon an officer on general patrol observed a male known to be wanted by the St Thomas Police service on outstanding charges. The 28 year old male was arrested and transported to the station to be held in cells awaiting weekend video court. Incident ST24004928.

Theft:

In the early morning on Saturday Police were contacted to attend a downtown business for reports a shoplifter. Police attended and were advised that a male had taken approximately $47.00 of items from the store before leaving without paying. Video was provided and the male was later identified by officers from the video. The matter is under investigation. Incident ST24004953.
