Break and Enters:
On Friday the 22nd of March an employee arrived at a downtown business to discover the location had been broken into overnight. The suspect had made entry by forcing an exterior door and the cash register was stolen containing a cash float. A male suspect was captured on video wearing a checkered hooded shirt and a face mask. On Friday morning a second downtown business reported that the door to the business had been pried open and then a vending machine had been damaged to gain access to the coins/cash inside. Video captured a male suspect, believed to be the same suspect as the break and enter above in ST24004508, and the matter(s) are currently under investigation. Theft:
On Friday the 22nd of March an east end business contacted the St Thomas Police service to report a shoplifting incident that had occurred on the 19th of March. A male suspect had left the store without making payment for merchandise. The photo is attached below. Warrant Arrest:
On Friday evening officers conducting a routine traffic stop discovered the 52 year old male driver was currently wanted on a warrant held by the Elgin County Provincial Police. The driver was arrested on the strength of the warrant, issued numerous highway traffic act offence notices, and turned over to the OPP. Incident ST24002562.
Mischief:
On Friday night a downtown establishment contacted the Police department after removing a patron from the business. Police were notified a male party had damaged urinals and water pipes in the bathroom before being directed to leave. The subsequent flooding caused water damage to the business and the matter is now being investigated as criminal mischief. Police are seeking assistance in identifying a suspect of mischief reported on the 27th of February 2024, and put out in an earlier media release. A male suspect is observed on video damaging the tire of a vehicle parked in the downtown core. A photo of the male suspect is below.
