Intimate Partner Violence:
In the early morning hours on Friday the 13th of June, we received a 911 call from a residence in the north end of the city with a male caller advising he had been involved in an altercation with his girlfriend. Police attended and learned that during the argument the female had assaulted the male while holding and pointing a pair of scissors at him. The female party was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, transported to the station and later released on an undertaking with conditions. Incident ST25010083.
Sexual Assault:
On Friday morning uniform officers attended a residence with members of Criminal Investigations to arrest a 36-year-old male for sexual assault and utter threats related to an investigation that had begun earlier in the week after a complaint had been made by a male victim. The accused party was transported to the station and later released on an undertaking with conditions. Incident ST25010037
Theft of Bicycles:
On Friday afternoon we were contacted to attend a local high school for reports of a stolen e-bike. An unknown male party had attended the school on a pedal bicycle, then cut the lock off of the e-bike and rode away, leaving the other bike behind. The abandoned bicycle was seized and has been lodged in property at the station. A photo of the male is below. On Friday afternoon we were contacted to attend the St Thomas Library for reports of a stolen bicycle. The victim had left their 26-inch black “Tech” bike outside of the library and returned later to find it stolen. Video has been requested and the matter is under investigation. Theft, Shoplifting:
On Friday evening Police were called to an east end business for two separate reports of shoplifting.
Staff reported that a female had attended the store earlier in the afternoon and left without paying for merchandise. Video was reviewed and the female was identified. A warrant has been requested, for theft under $5000.00, for a 29-year-old female. Incident ST25010129.
Staff also reported that a male had attended the store earlier in the afternoon and left, placed a quantity of meat into a backpack and left without paying for the merchandise. Video has been obtained and a potential suspect has been identified. The matter is still under investigation. Incident ST25010131.
