THEFT OF MOTORCYCLE

Two 29 year old males have been identified as being responsible for stealing a motorcycle on the 26th of August from a Talbot Street residence.  An alert citizen in the Elevated Park observed two males loading a motorcycle onto a trailer below and took photos of the them.  When they saw the St. Thomas Police media release outlining the theft of the motorcycle they contacted Police and turned over the photos.  The males from Cambridge and Port Dover were identified and each charged with two counts of Mischief under $5,000, theft over $5,000 and one was charged additionally with Failing to Comply with their Probation Order.  A warrant was issued for their arrests.  ST23015142.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT

On September 3rd Officers on Community Patrol were called by a citizen to the area of Highview Drive and Rickwood Place.  Reported was an orange dirt bike being ridden in the area at high rates of speed. The young driver was wearing a red and white full face helmet.  Police searched the area and were unable to locate the bike or rider.  Police are asking for citizens to call if they observe this bike.  ST23015708

MISCHIEF

Officers on Community Patrol were called to a Scott Street address in the evening hours of September 3rd. The homeowner reported that someone knocked on their door wearing a bandanna over their face, then threw a rock through a window of the home.  The male left riding a green Ninja motorcycle.  A license plate was obtained and the investigation is continuing.  ST23015714

THEFT OF GAS

On September 3rd a gas station attendant working at a station on Talbot Street contacted Police about a gas drive off.  Officers on Community Patrol attended and discovered that a white male wearing a white shirt and black track pants attended and pumped $90 worth of gas and drove away without paying.  The suspect was driving a white van.   The investigation is continuing.   ST23015721

BICYCLE THEFT

On September 4th Officers on Community Patrol attended a residence in the cities northside after a citizen reported their bike was stolen.  Sometime between 6:15 and 7:30 pm someone entered their fenced in back yard and stole their Raleigh HUCK mountain bike.  It is light blue with black accents, has 29 inch wheels and is valued at $700.  ST23015764

FOUND BICYCLES

Yesterday morning an Officer on Community Patrol did a walk through Athletic Park and located two children’s bicycles abandoned at the concession building.  One is a red Intercycle with black lettering and the other was a girls model pink Supercycle with blue and black lettering.  ST23015727

WARRANT ARREST

On August 28th in the early morning hours, an alert citizen contacted Police to report that they observed a male riding a bike, towing a suspicious load in his trailer.  Police on Community Patrol located the male at Alma and Redan Streets.  He was in possession of two tanks used for cutting and welding which were seized by Police.  The next day the owner was located and it was confirmed the tanks were stolen.   A warrant was issued for 33 year old St. Thomas resident Matthew Howes.  Howes was located  yesterday morning on Talbot Street and was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor building for processing.  He was charged with Possession of Property obtained by crime and three counts of Failing to Comply with his Probation Order for this original occurrence, and was charged further with Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, Possession of a prohibited device and three counts of Fail to Comply with his Probation Order.  He was later released with a future court date.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

In the early hours of September 5th Officers on Community Patrol attended a southside residence after dispatch received a frantic 911 call from a citizen requesting help.  Three people were seen by Police exiting the residence in medical distress, reporting that they had been pepper sprayed by unknown assailants.  Two were transported to hospital for decontamination and the third fled the scene.  Police are still investigating.  ST23015776
