VEHICLE ENTRIES

On Tuesday January 24th 2023 police attended 3 calls for service regarding vehicle windows being smashed and items stolen from vehicles. All three incidents took place between 8:30 pm on January 23rd  and 7:00 am on January 24th. All three reported incidents took place in the southeast corner of the city- Raven Avenue, David Drive and Fenwick Court. In all three occurrences, the items stolen were items of value namely brand name wallets/purses as well as identification/debit and credit cards and cash.  ST23001273, ST00231274 & ST23001276.

THEFT

Officers on Community Patrol attended a Locust Street address yesterday after a homeowner reported the theft of an outdoor flood light.  Sometime overnight of January 23rd suspect stole the $80 flood light that was in their front garden.  ST23001314

On January 24th Officers on Community Patrol attended a health club in the city after a member reported a theft from their locker.  The locker was unlocked and stolen was a wallet.  ST23001325

BREAK & ENTER ATTEMPT

Officers on Community Patrol attended an apartment building on Wellington St. yesterday morning after the management called to report an attempt break and enter to the building.  At approximately 1:00 am on January 24th, video surveillance caught a lone male enter the front lobby and use a pry bar to try to force open the door.  The suspect also tried to gain entry the same way at the back door.  No entry was made.  There was damage to both entry points.  The male is described as wearing dark clothing, wearing a black face mask and he was holding a black duffle bag.  ST230012878.

DISARM POLICE

On January 24th Officers on Community Patrol attended a high school in the City after the Administration reported that a student was causing problems and refusing to leave the school property.  The youth was eventually arrested by Police and he resisted arrest and tried to disarm one of the officers responding.   He was transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with Disarming a Police Officer, Resist Arrest and Failing to Leave when directed.  He was later released with a future court date.

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

Officers on Community Patrol attended a Balaclava Street address last night after the male resident called Police to report being assaulted by his former partner.  As a result a 37 year old female was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  She was charged with assault – spousal.  She was later released with a future court date.

WARRANTS

On January 24th a 26 year-old St. Thomas man attended the Police Station to turn himself in as there was a Probation Warrant for him.  He was arrested without incident.  He was later released with a future court date.

Officers from the Community Resource Unit attended a Princess Avenue address last night and located a 43 year old St. Thomas man who was wanted.  The male had missed his court date stemming from assault charges and a theft charge.   He was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was later released with a future court date.
