WARRANTS

On August 9th, Officers on the Downtown Beat Patrol observed a 34 year old citizen that was wanted on a warrant for missing court.  The citizen was arrested without incident and released with a future court date.  ST23014099

BREAK AND ENTER

Officers on Community Patrol were called to a residence Tuesday night after an alert citizen observed people exiting a vacant property that is for sale.  Suspects had gained access through a locked  window.  Officers found that the real estate lock boxes had been cut off and the locks to the home had been changed.  The investigation is continuing.  ST23014017

FRAUD

Officers on Community Patrol responded yesterday to a call where a citizen had received a text message the day before alerting them that there were funds that needed to be deposited into their chequing account.  The citizen provided their banking information back to the number.  The next day they observed $2,500 worth of purchases at three different retail outlets and that a Credit Card had been opened attached to their chequing account.  The bank account was closed to prevent any further loss.  The investigation is continuing.  ST23014043.

THEFTS

Tuesday evening Officers on Community Patrol were called to the area of the Railway Museum after an alert citizen observed two people loading railway ties into a grocery cart. The two individuals were located by Police.  Staff from the Museum were contacted and they wished that the ties be returned.  The suspects returned the property without incident.    ST23014055

Yesterday the construction crew working on Talbot Street reported to Police that a Stihl saw had been stolen.  Sometime between 9am and 10:30 am the $2,500 saw was stolen from the northeast corner of Talbot Street and St. Catherine St.  ST23014103

Officers on Community Patrol attended a store on Talbot Street yesterday after Loss Prevention reported an incident of shoplifting.  Two women were observed in the store, loading items in the basket of the motorized scooter one of them was riding in.  They left the store without paying for the items valued at approximately $300.  The suspects left in a White Hyundai four door vehicle.  ST23014109

Officers on Community Patrol attended a store on Talbot Street yesterday after Loss Prevention reported an incident of shoplifting.  Loss prevention had arrested the 65 year old suspect as they left the store without paying for the items they had concealed in a reusable shopping bag.  The value of the items was $110 worth of clothing.  Police charged the person with Theft under $5,000 and released them with a future court date.  ST23014126

Officers on Community Patrol attended Walmart yesterday after a shopper reported the theft of their bicycle.  They had left the bicycle out front, unlocked, at the bike rack between the hours of 2:30pm and 3:15pm.  Stolen was a black and blue CCM.  Video surveillance footage was observed an a male was seen taking the bike at approximately 2:55pm  Police are investigating.
