Warrant Arrest:
On Wednesday the 19th of November a male youth turned himself in at the station on a warrant related to a sexual assault investigation (ST25020644). The male was arrested, charged with sexual interference and sexual assault on a person under the age of 16 years, and held for court. Incident ST25021174.
On Wednesday morning a 28-year-old male attended the front counter of the St Thomas Police Service to turn himself into custody – in relation to an investigation into criminal harassment from 2020. The male was arrested and held for court. Incident ST25021176.
Fraud:
A local resident reported falling victim to an online employment scam and transferred money to a crypto currency exchange and another website. The victim is out approximately $4000.00 and the matter is under investigation. Incident ST25021177.
Intimate Partner Violence:
On Wednesday morning officers arrested a 42-year-old male at his residence in related to an investigation that had begun the preceding when his female partner attended the station to report violence in the home (ST25021144). The male was charged with spousal assault and uttering threats and held for court. Incident ST25021178
On Wednesday evening officers attended a residence in the north end for reports of a physical altercation. On arrival police spoke with both involved parties and learned that a 40-year-old female had choked her 45-year-old male partner. The male was provided medical attention and the female was arrested for assault bodily harm – choking, and later released with a future court date and conditions. Incident ST25021210.
Counterfeit money:
On Wednesday night officers were notified by a local business that a male party had attended and had attempted to utilize a counterfeit $100.00 asking for “change”. Video is to be provided and the incident is under investigation. Incident ST25021225.
