St. Thomas, ON – Friday August 15th 2025
The St. Thomas Police Service is proud to share the overwhelming success of this year’s Back-to-School – School Supply Drive, held in partnership with Doug Tarry Homes and Geerlinks Home Hardware. Thanks to the generosity of our community, local students will begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
On Tuesday, community members came together to donate backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, and other essential school supplies. The drive, held at Walmart in St. Thomas, saw incredible participation from residents, ensuring that no student is left without the basics for a strong start to the year.
“Once again, the generosity of our community has been nothing short of inspiring” said Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator with the St. Thomas Police Service. “From individual donors to our community-minded partners at Doug Tarry Homes and Geerlinks Home Hardware, everyone came together to make sure local students have what they need for a strong start to the school year. This is what St. Thomas is all about—neighbours helping neighbours.”
Deliveries of the collected supplies will be made to elementary schools in St. Thomas the week of August 25th, ensuring they reach the students who need them most when school starts.
The St. Thomas Police Service extends its heartfelt thanks to every individual who contributed, as well as to our valued community partners, Doug Tarry Homes and Geerlinks Home Hardware for their unwavering support of this event, each year.
Together, we’ve made a difference for the future of our youngest community members, one backpack at a time.
