Shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday May 2nd 2023 St. Thomas police were called to an address on Metcalfe Street for an altercation taking place at an active fire.
Upon arrival, St. Thomas Fire Department had contained and extinguished the fire however a dispute between two parties was ongoing resulting in damage to a vehicle and the accused fleeing the area.
Officers engaged in a brief foot chase, successfully capturing the accused.
There were no injuries reported from the scene of the fire.
As a result, a 43 year old St. Thomas resident will be charged with:
One count Mischief
One count Arson
One count Assault with a weapon.
