St. Thomas, ON (July 26th, 2023)
The St. Thomas Police Service is thrilled to announce an exciting event aimed at keeping kids active and entertained during the dog days of summer. If you’re looking for a fantastic way to beat the heat and have a blast with the St. Thomas Police, mark your calendars for the upcoming pick-up basketball and road hockey sessions at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.
With the summer heat upon us, it’s essential to find engaging activities for the youth in our community. The St. Thomas Police Service is committed to promoting community engagement while providing a safe and enjoyable environment for families to come together.
Event: Pick-up Basketball and Road Hockey with St. Thomas Police
Date: Wednesday, August 2nd and Tuesday August 22nd
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Location: Joe Thornton Community Centre – North Side Parking Lot
Participants will have the unique opportunity to interact and play alongside our dedicated city police officers, fostering positive relationships and strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the community. It’s an excellent chance for children to see the friendly faces behind the uniforms and learn about the essential role the police play in keeping our community safe.
“The St. Thomas Police Service is proud to host these pick-up basketball and road hockey sessions as part of our ongoing commitment to community outreach,” said Inspector Kim Manuel. “We believe that building positive connections between the police and the community starts from a young age, and this summer event provides the perfect setting for fun, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.”
Please note that the event is open to all children in the community, and participation is entirely free of charge. No registration is required; but anyone attending must be accompanied by an adult.
