Youth charged following altercation

A 15 year old St. Thomas youth has been arrested and charged following an altercation early Wednesday morning.  The altercation had taken place in the early morning hours of August 9th and the victim received minor injuries as a result.  The 15 year old has been charged with one count of assault and released with a court date and conditions.  ST23014159

 

Talbot Street Apartment Break-in

Officers were called to the 200 block of Talbot Street Friday morning following a complaint of a break-in.  Officers learned that unknown person(s) had entered the unit and had stolen a wallet belonging to the resident.  After contacting the owner’s financial institution it was learned that a debit card had been used at a nearby convenience store.  Officers are still attempting to learn the identity of the person responsible, and are currently reviewing video footage of the incident.  ST23014216

 

Residential Break-in Reported

Residents of a southeast home were alerted on Friday morning that their home had been broken into.  When they arrived they found the door to the residence insecure and several items from within missing.  They reported that several thousand dollars worth of jewelry and property were taken during the break-in.  This matter remains under investigation at this time.  ST2314218

 

76 year old charged following dispute

A 76 year old St. Thomas man was arrested and charge with Assault Friday following an altercation at a local retail store.  It is alleged that the altercation took place over a dispute of a property return and refund not being given.  As a result of the dispute the 76 year old is alleged to have assaulted the store’s owner.  The male was arrested, charged and later released with a court date and conditions.  ST23014224

 

$1400 in Baby Formula Stolen

Police were contacted Friday morning by a local Shopper’s Drug Mart reporting the theft of nearly $1400 worth of Baby Formula.  Staff reported late Thursday August 10, that an unknown male entered the store, filled 3 grocery bags with the formula and left the store without paying.  A description of the male was provided to officers and still photos provided.  Below is the suspect in this matter.  Please contact police with any information of the identity of the male.  ST23014229

 

Arrest made during traffic stop

Officers  responded to the area of a Wellington Street address in the city Friday afternoon in regards to a male operating his vehicle with no insurance.   The same male was located and stopped shortly after.  During the stop for numerous highway traffic act and compulsory automobile insurance act offences, it was learned that the 32 year old St. Thomas man was wanted by Wellington County OPP.  The warrant was executed and the man was released at the scene with a future court date.  ST23014284
