Arrest Made in Series of Property Crimes Across St. Thomas

The St. Thomas Police Service’s Property Crime Unit (PCU) has arrested a 31 year old St. Thomas resident in connection with a recent string of thefts and vehicle entries reported throughout the city over the past week.

On Tuesday September 30th 2025, investigators located 31 year old, Eric Cloutier near a residence in the north end of the city. Cloutier, who was known to police and wanted on an outstanding warrant for similar property related offences, was arrested and taken into custody.

A significant quantity of suspected stolen property was recovered at the time of his arrest. Following further investigation, officers were able to confirm that the items had been stolen during multiple incidents reported to police between September 24th and September 30th.

As a result, Cloutier has been charged with:

  • Seven counts of Breach of Recognizance

  • Four counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

  • Two counts of Use of Credit Card

  • One count of Break and Enter a Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence

  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

In total, Cloutier faces 15 charges relating to stolen property. Investigators believe he is responsible for or suspected to be involved in upwards of 18 separate incidents reported to police in the month of September.

Cloutier was held for a court appearance this morning and has been remanded into custody.

The St. Thomas Police Service continues to encourage residents to secure their vehicles and property and to promptly report any suspicious activity to police.
