Assault
A 67 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after an incident in the city last night. At approximately 8:15 p.m. police were called to an address on Chestnut Street to investigate the report of an altercation that had occurred. Through investigation, officers learned two people not known to each other, arranged to meet and exchange property that was found by the accused earlier in the day. Upon meeting, an altercation occurred between the two. It was reported that following a physical struggle, the 67 year old then drove their vehicle at the victim.
As a result; the 67 year old resident has been charged with:
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
The individual was processed on the charges and released on an appearance notice. ST25002088
Warrant Arrest
A 44 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday February 5th 2025, officers were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service, stemming from an incident in January where they had been charged with Assault Peace Officer, Resist Peace Officer and Possession of a Scheduled 1 Substance. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25002043
A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday February 5th 2025, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on outstanding warrants with our service stemming from incidents in 2024. The individual was processed to attend court and was remanded into custody. ST25002050
Theft
St. Thomas police are investigating the report of a theft that occurred from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday February 5th 2025, officers attended the store to speak to an employee who reports that they were able to retrieve stolen merchandise from an unknown individual, outside of the store. It was reported the individual had attended and stole from the store on several other occasions. Police are reviewing video surveillance of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST25002071
St. Thomas police are investigating the report of several records being stolen from a downtown retail store. On Wednesday February 5th 2025, officers were called to the store by the owner who wished to report an unknown individual attended the store and failed to pay for their items. CCTV of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST25002074
Approximately $45 of frozen food has been reported stolen from a convenience store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday February 5th 2025, officers were called to the store by an employee who wished to report that an unknown individual attended the store and concealed the frozen meals in a cooler bag. The individual proceeded to leave the store, making no attempt to pay. This remains under investigation. ST25002093
