Update (3/3) Death deemed accidental 

An investigation into a deceased individual located in the area of Hemlock Street and Elmina Street on Monday morning, has now concluded.

Through investigation the cause of death has been deemed accidental. 

The individual has been identified as 17 year old, CJ Turley of St. Thomas.

The St. Thomas Police Service extends our condolences to the family during this difficult time.

On the morning of June 30th 2025, shortly after 10:00 a.m., the St. Thomas Police Service responded to a call for service regarding a deceased individual located in the area of Hemlock Street and Elmina Street.


Officers remain on scene as part of the ongoing investigation. At this time, there is no concern for public safety in relation to this incident.
The public is asked to avoid the area while police continue their work.

Police are in the area of Elmina Street for an ongoing investigation. Elmina will be closed at Hemlock Street and at Oak Street for an unknown period of time. There is no threat to public safety. Please avoid the area.
