Warrant Arrest
In the early morning on Friday the 11th of September officers on patrol spotted a 35-year-old female that had an existing warrant for shoplifting. The female was arrested on the strength of the warrant and later released with a future court date. Incident ST26017540.
Shoplift/Fail to comply with Undertaking:
On Friday morning we attended an east end business for reports of a female shoplifter that had left the store. The 44-year-old female was located on checking the area and arrested for theft under $5000.00. The female further was on release conditions to not attend that particular business from a previous incident of theft. The female was arrested, charged theft under and fail to comply with recognizance and held for court. Incident ST26017554.
Utter threats/Fail to comply with probation
On Friday afternoon we were contacted by a citizen who reported being threatened by a male known to him during incidental contact on Talbot Street. The 30-year-old suspect further was on a probation order which included no contact with the victim. The male was located and arrested and was in an escalated state – threatening to kill the police officers involved in his arrest once back at the station. The male was taken to the local hospital and placed on a mental health form by medical staff. A warrant is being sought for the male for his arrest on release from medical care, charged with several counts of uttering threats. Incident ST26017558.
Theft:
On Friday afternoon we were contacted by a local resident who reported a baseball and hockey card collection, valued at approximately $7000.00, taken from his home. On investigation it was learned that the victim had allowed another male to stay with him for a short time, and the collection was noted to be missing only after the temporary lodger had been asked to leave. The matter is currently under investigation. Incident ST26017557.
Theft:
On Friday evening a male at a local park had left his backpack unattended and later discovered two vape pens missing from it. There were no available cameras or witnesses. Incident ST26017588.
Assault with a weapon/Mischief
Police were called to the downtown area for reports of a male who had threatened to harm two other males with a knife. On arrival the 35-year-old male suspect was observed by officers on scene but took off on foot before an arrest could be effected. A perimeter was established and a STPS canine unit attended to track the suspect. The male was later spotted by an officer on patrol who attempted to arrest the male, resulting in a foot chase and a struggle with arresting officers. While investigating the first matter it was learned the male was captured on video earlier in the evening slashing the tires of a social worker in the downtown core. The male was charged with assault with a weapon and mischief and held for court. Incidents ST26017589 and ST26017590.
Shoplift x3:
On Friday night an east end business reported three shoplifting incidents to our service. A female had attended the store and taken $118.00 of merchandise without paying (Incident ST26017579). Later a male suspect had taken $10.00 of product without paying (ST26017581). Video is being provided for both thefts and they are under investigation. Lastly a male attended the store and stole a large number of items from cosmetics. The male was identified on video and a warrant is currently being sought for the arrest of the 29-year-old male for theft under $5000.00. Incident ST26017593.
Warrant arrest:
On Friday night an officer on general patrol spotted a male known to be wanted for a recent break and enter to a convenience store in the city (ST26017546). The male was arrested on the existing reasonable grounds and later released with conditions and a future court date. Incident ST26017604.
Warrant arrest:
On Friday night an officer on general patrol had an interaction with a male during an unrelated call for service and a check revealed that he was currently wanted on an existing bench warrant for mischief (ST26004738). The 31-year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for court. Incident ST26017605.
