Vehicle Entries

A Michael Kors purse, backpack and tote bag have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the north end of the City. Police were called to investigate the theft that occurred at some point in the overnight hours. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST26016189

A gym membership and loose change have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the south end of the City. Police were called to investigate the theft that occurred at some point in the overnight hours. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST26016192

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the south end of the City. Police were called to investigate the theft that occurred at some point in the overnight hours. No damage to the vehicle was reported. The complainant’s cards were then used at 2 variety store locations within the City. This matter is currently under investigation.  ST26016202

A driver’s licence, Health card, Visa , and numerous bags of name brand clothing valued $1000.00 were taken from a vehicle north end of the City. Police were called to investigate the theft that occurred at some point in the morning hours. No damage to the vehicle was reported and the Visa card was not used. ST26016204

Intimate Partner Violence

A 66 year old St Thomas resident has been charged with Criminal Harassment and IPV Assault after Police investigated a historical dispute between the resident and an individual they were involved in an intimate relationship with. A warrant has been requested at this time. ST26016193

Thefts

Police are investigating a theft from the downtown core after a St. Thomas resident reported the theft of her backpack and hygiene products from a downtown establishment. ST26016194

Police were called to a retail establishment in the 1063 block of Talbot Street for the report of a theft of shoes. The matter is currently under investigation. ST26016209

Police were called to a retail establishment in the downtown core for the report of a stolen e-bike. Police were able to recover the e-bike and return it to the complainant. The matter is currently under investigation. ST26016215

Fraud

A St Thomas resident reports her credit card was used to make several small purchases over the last several months totaling over $500.00 at a local variety store. She is not missing her card and is unaware of how someone obtained her information. The matter is currently under investigation. ST26016208

RIDE Program leads to Impaired Driver

Police conducted a RIDE program with over 450 vehicles checked for sobriety. Police issued 12 Approved Screening Device (ASD) demands with 11 drivers registering a pass. A 22 year old St Thomas resident registered a “Fail” on the device and was transported to the St. Thomas Police Service where he provided two more samples of his breath which read 120mg/100 ml, he was charged with Impaired Operation 80 plus and released with a future court date. Police laid an additional 2 Highways Traffic Offences as a result of the RIDE program. ST26016222/ST26016245

Threats

Police spoke with a St Thomas resident who advised while waiting for an UBER she noticed parties trying the door on her vehicle. After speaking with the parties, she was later approached by 5 teenagers,  4 males and 1 female.  The resident alleged that one of the males pulled a 6-7 inch knife out and threatened her with it. The group then fled the area. The matter is under investigation. ST26016229

Assault

Police were called for a fight in the roadway involving a large number of parties. Police attended and formed grounds for the arrest of a 19 year old St Thomas resident for assault. The 19 year old was arrested and held in custody for a morning court appearance. The other involved party was transported to a local medical facility with possible injuries. The matter remains under investigation. ST26016247

Prohibited Driver

Police arrested and charged a 32 year old St Thomas resident with 1 count of driving while prohibited and one count of driving while under suspension after a family dispute lead to him leaving the residence in his mother’s vehicle. ST26016248

Warrant Arrest

Police were called to a business in the south end of the City for an unwanted person loitering on the steps. After investigation, Police located a male party who was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant. The male was arrest and released on an appearance notice. ST26016250
