We arrested a 34-year-old St. Thomas resident on the strength of an arrest warrant. We were alerted to the individual by a concerned citizen as the suspect was yelling and causing a disturbance near a shopping centre. We arrived on scene and the suspect fled after being told they were under arrest, a short foot pursuit resulted in the suspect being taken into custody. The suspect is now charged with resisting arrest and has been held in custody for a court appearance. Ref# ST26007817/ST26007819
We conducted a R.I.D.E. program which resulted in 50 drivers being checked and three road side breath tests resulting in passes. Near the conclusion of the checks, we observed a vehicle make a u-turn in order to evade the spot check. Officers caught up with the vehicle driver who was arrested for impaired operation and being in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. Officers also observed a radar detector mounted to the dashboard of the suspects vehicle, therefore the suspect was also charged with possessing a radar warning device contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. - Always get a second opinion from family or friends regarding the situation
- No employer will reach out to you through apps like Whats App or Telegram
- No employer will ever pay you in crypto currency
- No employer will ask you to invest your own money
- Use the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre as a resource to familiarize yourself with current scams and additional ways to protect yourself
