St. Thomas, ON – Tuesday February 13th 2024
A 44 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after STPS responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a south end residence on Monday February 12th 2024.
Upon arrival, police located a victim suffering from several injuries as the result of an assault that had occurred. EMS were called to the address to provide medical care for the victim who was transported to hospital to be treated for their injuries. The accused was called out of the residence by police with their tasers drawn. The accused was ordered to the ground by police but actively resisted arrest as police gained physical control.
The 44 year old St. Thomas resident was placed in handcuffs and transported to police headquarters where a search while being processed found the individual to be in possession of approximately 7 grams of cocaine. As a result, the 44 year old has been charged with:
- One count Resist Peace Officer
- One count Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- One count Possession of a Scheduled Substance
The accused was held for a morning court appearance where they were remanded into custody. ST24002214
