Theft

A laptop has been reported stolen after a break and enter incident. On Monday September 25th 2023, STPS were called to a business located in the commercial area of Mondamin Street and Curtis Street. Through investigation it was learned that an unknown person(s) made their way into the secure building and stole the laptop. This remains under investigation. ST23017067

A pair of jeans and a purse with a total value of $50 has been reported stolen. On Monday September 25th 2023, St. Thomas police were called by loss prevention staff at a local retail store who reported the theft. STPS have obtain a photo of the individual responsible and are looking to the public for assistance. Impaired Operation

A 43 year old Central Elgin resident has been arrested. On Monday October 2nd 2023, just before 10 p.m. officers on community patrol initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle crossing over the center line and being driven in a concerning manner. During the traffic stop, police formed grounds of impairment and an alcohol screening device was administered resulting in a fail. The 43 year old was place under arrest and transported to police headquarters where further testing confirmed impairment. The Central Elgin resident was charged with one count Operation while Impaired, was processed and release. ST23017576

Mischief

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident is currently wanted by STPS after attending police headquarters at 4:30 a.m. on October 3rd and ripping the security key fob readers from the wall. Police reviewed video of the suspect and were able to identify them. As a result, the 38 year old has been charged with one count Mischief. A warrant as been requested. ST23017592
