Additional Media Release for STPS

Shoplift

On September 29th 2023, STPS was called to a downtown grocery store after a female was observed concealing items before leaving without making any attempt to pay. Officers were able to positively identify the female and locate her. The items were recovered and the female was charged. ST23017386

 

Disturbance

On September 29th 2023, STPS was called to a north end complex for a disturbance involving a large group of people. Officers were able to calm the situation and disperse the individuals. One party was arrested for being intoxicated in public. He was transported to station and later released. ST23017390

 

Flight from Police

On September 30th 2023, STPS Traffic Management Unit attempted to stop a white Honda Civic for an Highway Traffic Act Offence. The vehicle proceeded to take off from Police, failing to stop. No pursuit was initiated due to public safety reasons. The matter remains under investigation. Vehicle entry

On October 1st 2023, STPS was contacted by a resident from the north end who reported their vehicle had been entered sometime overnight and their wallet taken. The resident learned that their banks cards from their wallet had been used at a number of locations in the city. The matter remains under investigation as Police review video. ST23017468

 

Thefts

On October 1st 2023, STPS attended a south end store for reports of a male causing a disturbance and stealing items. Officers quickly located the male and placed him under arrest. The items were recovered and the male was trespassed. ST23017480

On October 2nd 2023, STPS was contacted to investigate reports a theft. A resident from the north end of the city called after they realized a number of items were missing from their apartment. Police continue to investigate the matter. ST23017504

A resident from the west end of town called STPS to report that sometime overnight on October 2nd, an unknown person had taken their bicycle which was located inside a locked compound area outside. Police continue to check video looking to identify the suspect involved. ST23017525
