Theft

A box of various bags of cat food valued at approximately $43.00 has been reported stolen from a porch on the north side of the city. On Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft that occurred on August 20th. Through investigation officers learned the box had been delivered to the porch of the home but had been stolen before it could be retrieved by the resident. This remains under investigation. A quantity of tools, copper and a fuel pump have been reported stolen in separate incidents from the same area of the city. On Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the incidents that occurred in a new home construction site on the south east side of the city. Through investigation, officers learned a work truck on site had been entered with various tools, a tool box and a fuel pump taken with visible damage to the truck. In the same area, various tools and copper were stolen from an active job site. Police continue to investigate. ST23014896/ST23014898

A $200 black BMX bike has been reported stolen. On Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft after the victim reports being notified by their door bell camera. Through investigation and review of the door bell video, an unknown person walked onto the porch of the home and stole the bike. This remains under investigation. ST23014900

Break and Enter 

Approximately $700 of damage to coin laundry appliances has been reported to police. On Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 St. Thomas police were called by a building manager of an apartment building who reported suspicious activity on the property. Through investigation police learned that two unknown individuals attended the apartment building on the north side of city and proceeded to the laundry room, attempting to pry open the coin operated appliances. STPS are reviewing available video. This remains under investigation. ST23014899

Arrested

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 the individual attend police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Operation while Impaired dating back to 2021. The 32 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. St23014902

Vehicle Entry 

Approximately $3,000 worth of tools and a touch screen car radio have been reported stolen from a vehicle that had been towed to the city of St. Thomas for repair. On Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 police were called to investigate the theft that occurred some time after the vehicle was dropped off at an automotive repair shop on Talbot Street. Police are working with employees of the repair shop to review surveillance video. This remains under investigation. ST23014929

Found Wheelchair 

A black wheelchair has been recovered by police. On Wednesday August 23rd, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to recover the Concept 45 wheelchair that had been found near the train tracks on Woodworth Avenue. Failure to Comply 

A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking after St. Thomas police were called to a disturbance on the south side of the city, just before 2:00 a.m. this morning. Upon arrival, police located an individual known to them to have conditions to not be at the address of the complaint or associate with the resident at the address. As a result, the 28 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for court. ST23014949
