Impaired Operation – Obstruct Police 

A 25 year old Thunder Bay resident has been arrested and charged with several offences after police were called to investigate the report of a car revving its engine and honking its horn just after 1:00 a.m. this morning. Police located the vehicle in the location of the complaint and while speaking with the driver, formed grounds of possible impairment. While speaking with police, the 25 year old falsely identified themselves. Through investigation, police were able to confirm the identity of the driver who was arrested and transported to police headquarters where further testing confirmed impairment by alcohol. As result, the individual was charged with one count Operation while Impaired 80 plus, one count Obstruct Peace Officer and one count having care or control with an open container. The Thunder Bay resident was processed and released on an undertaking with future court date. ST23014885

Theft

$3,700 worth of Dior perfume has been reported stolen. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft that occurred at a retail store on First Avenue. It was reported that in the evening hours of August 20th, two unknown individuals entered the store and stole two shelves worth of the designer perfume. The suspects were seen leaving in a dark grey SUV.  Police are looking to identify the individuals in these photos:

Vehicle Entries 

A wallet was taken and $250 worth of damage was done to a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on the southside of the city. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate after the owner of the vehicle reported that sometime in the overnight hours, a window of their vehicle had been smashed and their wallet taken. Contents of the wallet included several personal banking cards, identification and vehicle permits. Later the same day, a home owner in the area found the wallet and contacted police. The wallet and the entirety of its contents have been returned. ST23014822

A wallet was taken and $250 worth of damage was done to a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on the southside of the city. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate after the owner of the vehicle reported that sometime in the overnight hours, a window of their vehicle had been smashed and their wallet taken. Contents of the wallet included personal banking cards and identification. This remains under investigation with the wallet still outstanding. ST23014823

A diaper bag was taken and $250 worth of damage was done to a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on the southside of the city. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate after the owner of the vehicle reported that sometime in the overnight hours, a window of their vehicle had been smashed and their diaper bag taken. Arrested

A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to an area on the northside of the city to investigate the complaint of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, police located the individual in a secured area of the property. As a result, the 30 year old was charged under the trespass to property act. While processing the individual, police were made aware of an outstanding warrant with Lampton OPP. The 30 year old was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where they were eventually released on an undertaking from Lampton OPP. ST23014821

A 27 year old London resident has been arrested. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by Elgin OPP who had the individual in custody on an unrelated matter. While processing the 27 year old on their charges, OPP were notified of an outstanding warrant with our service for Breach of Probation. STPS officers attended Elgin OPP and transported the individual to St. Thomas police headquarters to be processed and attend court where they were subsequently released by the courts. ST23014829

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday August 21st, 2023 officers on community patrol located the 38 year old who was known to be wanted by our service for one count Assault with a Weapon after police responded to a disturbance on August 18th, 2023. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and attended court, subsequently released by the courts. ST23014834

A 25 year old Port Stanley resident has been arrested. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by Sarnia police who had the 25 year old in custody on the strength of our warrant for one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and one count Use, Deals, Acts on Forged Documents. STPS attended Sarnia and transported the individual to St. Thomas police headquarters to attend court. The 25 year old was remanded into custody. ST23014835

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday August 21st, 2023 the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Probation, Possession of Property obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Use of Credit Card after an incident on August 18th, 2023. The 31 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23014876

A 52 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday August 21st, 2023 the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The 52 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23014888

Stolen Uhaul recovered 

A Uhaul reported stolen from St. Thomas on August 19th has been recovered. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by London police who had located the vehicle in their city. The vehicle was found with extensive damage. The local company who reported the theft were contacted to retrieve the vehicle. This remains under investigation. ST23014839

Failure to Comply 

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been remanded into custody after St. Thomas police were called to investigate the report of an unwanted person in the downtown core on Monday August 21st, 2023. Upon arrival, police located the individual known to them to be on conditions to not attend the address of complaint. As a result, the 32 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters.  The individual was processed and attended court where they were remanded into custody. ST23014825

A 37 year old London resident and a 36 year old Creemore resident have been arrested. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the report of a disturbance between two parties. Upon arrival, police located the individuals who were bound by multiple conditions to not be in the presence of one another. As a result, both parties were arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for court. ST23014851

Theft

A $60 pair of flip flops have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Monday August 21st, 2023 St. Thomas police were called by a store employee who reported an unknown person entered the store, concealed the shoes in their waistband and left the store making no attempt to pay. Police are reviewing available video. This remains under investigation. ST23014875
